isnt this a fucking lovely song? its been a darn long while since i last heard any songs of this quality. i shall savour the last few moments with songs before enlistment. more importantly this song may reflect most army-bound boys' sentiments. a resentful yet confused feeling. and yes this is very much because there are too many things in life we can never have any control over. we simply have to wait. and i guess only time will tell.
...
fuck. i hate to wait.

somebody ought to teach me.
teach me to be like a boy.
an innocent little boy.
a gentle loving boy.
a naive and carefree boy.
a fucked up dumb boy.
that people grow to hate me.
for that people grow to spite me.
they get annoyed. oh yes they have every right.
because i do not care less.
because i do not see much in them.
because i do not see things like them.
so i do not belong as part of them.
so.
even so.
i couldnt care less.
you should stop and see things from my point of view.
and maybe then you will see how i see.
and feel how i feel.
and then. the world may grow to hate you.

rushed off to esplanade to meet up with liu bo and his friend (forgot his name) for an indie gig night. they told me to be early. and i did just that. BUT. they. -__-
the opening act was dumb. it was an expected singaporean band trying to carve a niche for themselves. they call themselve the OBSERVATORY. it was a blunt attempt at trying to make a song sound like a song. the vocalist and the rest of the band members were clearly performing as two separate entities. they should really start listening to the strokes. basic. simple. yet they get the job done.
and then the main act. the tortoise. a supposed famous underground indie rock band. starting out it was just eccentric to me. later on the music blended just right for my eardrums. it was not the conventional indies. it was pure instrumentals. if i am not wrong i detect jazz, electronica, acid jazz, and alternative influences. it was brilliant. every single member had no problem playing every other single instrument. andrew loved this jeff parker. my love was for the lead drummer. he only broke 7 drumsticks during the 2hour stint. it was some lovely shit. my personal favorite being the one they had a rather
special dedication to. haha. during the autograph session the lead drummer looked somewhat stoned, to the point where he was sort of uttering nonsense. hmmm... i wonder why. i shall leave the guessing to others haha. oh and did i mention that i got their autographs on my ticket. it was plain dumb, but i really brought nothing for me to let them sign on. oh well, life goes on.

the incubus album (was it alive at red rocks?) was darn solid. especially the 2nd track of the 5 unreleased songs. i didnt catch the title. devastation.
i was just plain bored. it was a lazy sunday. it suddenly became queer to me (and perhaps only me) that roses were inapt to be the rightful symbol of romance, of love. i dont see rose as any sort of love. why not lily? why not rafflesia? haha. flower does not symbolise jack shit. whatever we protray romance as was probably good work from the media. i love them. they make girls assume diamonds were forever. no. diamonds do melt under extreme heat. and apparently diamond prices were dropping. due to the sudden surge in supplies from our beloved Russia. nicely done. now we understand the demand for diamonds are dropping. but girls still love them. for now i guess.
i will complain that all these are not of love. because i am a victim of vicious merchandising ploys. damn you . (no thanks to de Beers)

went to nus open house today. the weather wasnt that good. the school was packed with fucks keen to learn what their future courses have in store for them. me, of course, one of the fucks there.
saw a cj friend. brings back fond memories. haha.
went to the business faculty. a nerdy BUT friendly guide was bringing us about the area. it looked absolutely non-fascinating. seriously, i wouldnt be bothered about where the library and the com labs and the canteen were. nothing special. oh. and that. that fella mentioned 8 times that the business fac building was built on a hill and it was U-shaped. alright enough already you fuckhead, we know enough that you designed the whole damned place.
and he went on to fascinate us about the vast choices of "non-academic" activities going on in the business fac. notice how i did not use the term "cca" instead. turned out that there was only ONE such activity and it was VERRRRY NON-academic indeed. it was the grand non-geeky, self-satisfaction guaranteed, THE BUSINESS CLUB. thank you. i was so thrilled, mostly shocked, that i let out a rather audible "HARH?" in front of the whole group of people. forgive me for i really could not believe my ears. and that there was actually such a club in existence. the guide seemed to avoid the topic of this favorable club after that. he seemed shy. i assumed that he is the club president. HAHA! after learning all that, which was blatant truth to any david tans, i shall decide to JUMP STRAIGHT INTO NUS BUSINESS FACULTY.
i guess ill have take some time off to choose which cca i should join in the future.
hmm...
interesting indeed.

it's true. you're right vish. the most pathetic people are not the ones who rendered themselves bad results. the worst case is if you are unable to do what you want. a pity.

it's late. i got work tomorrow morning. i cant sleep. i am fucked.
been pondering why my mere existence seem to infuriate people. what have i done. or rather, what have i not done. it's my indifference that people are annoyed about. i think. i tend not to think too much into things. i choose to sit back and chill. in this aspect i followed pubilius syrus well. i need a new drive in life. i need a new enthusiasm towards learning. i need to socialise and put on a fake front to please the masses. i need to learn the art of romance. wait. all these aint yuhao. yuhao is a useless insensitive bum. maybe i need to start changing.
alright. time for cough syrup. *cough cough*
hahahahaha. hah.

i thought about it during work. at first in class nobody knew no one. roger sort of brought us all together. and after that, it was sheer havoc. we live the lives man.
girls often fantasize the life of a princess. how lovely. they do not understand the pains from their royalty origins. they do not understand that their whole lives are constantly subjected to the paparazzi's abuse. they do not understand that they are knaves to their meddlesome parents' strict measures. most direct descendants of princesses arent pretty anyway. so think again.
i have to rethink. about life.

college life is effectively over for us. often we did not see eye to eye with our direct governing authorities. having such a troubled, eventful school curriculum, we came up with the most incredible excuses for our misendeavours. cases like 5 of us fainting in the canteen together was deployed as an act of last resort when our lecturer pushed us to the brink of expulsion. nevertheless, we sort of stuck through all these thick and thin periods and at the end of it all, the results. we were the most
mischievous bunch in the history of our school, this was exclaimed by my teacher, which i chose not to believe. homework was never passed up and even if we did, we will make sure we stretch the deadline by at least 2 weeks. the model schoolboys i presume. through all these nonsense and academic indifference, it all will be good or bad memory depending on what results you get. for most of my class people we actually made it a point at the eleventh hour to prove to the mentors that we were not the scum they made us out to be. retaining was a stupid mistake but it didnt, and will not scar me for life. Providence made most of us not frown on the day of results. to the teachers that looked down on us, FUCK YOU. gently.
but all in all i realised that hard work was not all. perhaps the karma, and perhaps the luck. the divinity offers the slightest of clues on the manoeuvre of uncontrolled variables. issues like sudden mental block or illness can only condemn. most of all i thank the Divine for minimal obstruction in studying and doing my As. no thanks to my parents with their incessant bugging on "aye son ah can you go uni or not ah? what if cannot ah? what if this? what if that?" FUCK YOU. UNDERSTAND. einstein was a dropout understand? joel wong is fucking old you fucking understand?!
although i was slightly disappointed with my results, im was eventually glad of the outcome. it wasnt too bad. it picked me up from ground zero, a point where self-confidence was a laughable rarity. i went lucky.
Looking back at the class photographs, they bring forth much reminiscing, the adolescence was enjoyable but will only remain as history. every single picture has its very own story to tell. there will never again be another class like this. these are the players. this was the havoc life. this is. the chivas life. me: what? u want a girl with a distorted mind that of hannibal lector? you want her to eat your brains?
liu: if she wants that i wouldnt mind.
me: okay. what if she were to have testicles..
liu: no problem at all. then it would be a bf, not a gf.
optimism works its ways around mankind. forcing hope to be cherished in the hearts of the feintly distorted ones. i would love myself to experience joy at every instant of life, but not this way. maybe in this modern and open minded generation, i lagged behind in the eighties. i lose.

parents are putting up too much hype into academic performance. future career success of a child may not actually benefit much to parents . it is the moral values of a child that will only soothen a worried parents' mind. without it, success will come to naught. without it, success will only be erred by jail, probably even death. but alas, society will only rate someone by his/her performance. parents nonetheless fall into that category. so will i.
